Machined Timber

At JDT our two major markets of supply are:

• The timber frame sector, and
• Secondary merchants, whether independent, or part of larger groups

Both these sectors rely heavily on machined timber and at JDT we are committed to offering a quality of product second-to-none in our marketplace.

At our Leven Sawmill we have six planer moulders on site, ranging from high speed planing machines to slower moulding machines. These are capable of producing the most intricate mouldings while maintaining superb surface finishes.

These facilities help demonstrate our commitment to continual reinvestment in new equipment and technology. We have also recently installed a fully-automatic high speed planing and packing line. JDT's Managing Director Iain Torrance commented:

"This major investment is only the first step in a programme of total sawmill reorganisation. Our aim, through the implementation of the most technologically advanced and sophisticated equipment, is to completely renew our milling capabilities over the next three years.

We are working closely with the world leaders in timber machining, Weinig AS (Germany), to develop machinery, matching customer requirements through specifically targeted investment."
